Shepherd Mother V. W. Taylor

Shepherd Mother V. W. Taylor is a native of Albany, Georgia., the fourth of ten children, raised in the apostolic faith. This woman of God sat under the guidance of the mothers of the church and learned chastity and the statutes of holiness. Pastor Florine W. Thomas, her mother, is one of the many teachers and groomers of her life. Along with Mother Georgia Mosley who prayed with her when she was nine years old, the tender age at which she was baptized and received the Holy Ghost. She earned an A.S. degree in Allied Health thereafter ascending a career as an LPN throughout Albany, Georgia and the surrounding counties.

She is the wife of Apostle Darryl Taylor Sr., and the mother of three beautiful children, Nana to five grandchildren and a servant of God to the masses. She teaches young women of purity and tutors them in the way of holiness. As a wife, she wears many hats that require her yet she is fulfilled and accepts the call with great reward. She’s has the privilege of experiencing the joys and sorrows associated with being a pastor’s wife, yet she realizes that she is very special and that she is made for this. She is anointed and elect for the pursuit. One of her favorite scriptures is “ For I know the thoughts that I think towards you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” Jeremiah 19:11. No matter the challenges or trials, she is assured that there is a remnant to encounter the expected end.

She has overcome many obstacles. At an early age she was run over by a school bus. She walked away without a scratch. A few years later, while riding a motorcycle with her sister, her leg slipped in between the spokes of the tire. It took over an hour to free her leg. Unable to walk for months, she held on to the prayers of her mother and the saints of God. She has also been in several motor vehicle accidents. One vehicular accident occurred March 2005 when she was hit on the passenger side of the vehicle. She had to be cut out of the vehicle using the JAWS of life. After arriving to the hospital the doctors were baffled with the decision of what to do. Her pelvis was broken in three places and her coccyx bone was broken off, along with many bruises and massive amounts of swelling. The doctors said people in accidents that severe do not survive. Doctors reported she would not walk again and they needed to send her to the nursing home. The man of God, her husband Apostle D.G. Taylor, spoke a word and said she would be going home; not to a swing bed. Her husband, children, mother, as well as her spiritual and natural family prayed and watched her around the clock. Today she walks. The doctor told her husband, "Let me shake your hand because you are lucky’’. He said, “No I’m not lucky, we are blessed.” The very hand of God manifested a notable miracle. Today she declares God to be the savior of her life, the healer of her body, and the sanctifier of her soul. He makes her whole. Her life is no longer her own but she serves as a handmaiden that gives God her all. She affirms that no matter what you are going through it could always be worse and someone is going through greater. So, her daily words are “ TELL HIM THANK YOU.’’ 1 Thessalonians 5:18. Shepherd Mother Taylor is a soul winner for Christ. She has a great love for people but most of all she has a passion for souls. She works on the altar endlessly. Luke 15:7 states “I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.”

She is a prayer warrior who believes that if you want God to answer when you pray you must develop a relationship with him. Isaiah 65:24 says “ And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.” She upholds the ministry of prayer daily, at noon, ensuring that the doors of the church are open for intercession and supplication. Her aspiration is that the preeminence of God invokes the lives of men, women, boys and girls compelling them to
Christ.

She loves working with numbers and seeking out to help others, whether it is to set a budget, buy a car, or buy a house. She is over the women's auxiliary department with the mission to empower women to pray, fast, and endure in excellency. She is a firm believer that the attitude and posture of a woman can build or hinder the development of becoming a virtuous woman.

She heads up a women’s retreat annually for women to come and touch God. Women throughout the state of Georgia assemble together yearly to release and receive of the Lord. The themes of the retreat target matters of the heart, the wholeness of a woman, the nurturing of a mother, the role of a daughter, the building of a house by the woman. She leads by example and serves even to the S.D. James Evangelistic Association as a vessel in the women’s conferences annually where she participates in the sessions as a facilitator of women’s resiliency. She also serves as Sabbath School Teacher in her local assembly. The Sabbath is observed and she gives of her time and wisdom to impart the principles of biblical teachings to adults 18 and older.

She is a firm believer in the word that God promises to bless us and make us the head and not the tail if we walk in obedience. Deuteronomy 28:13
